The Royal Fortress of Chinon in augmented reality

Histopad, shows, new children’s visits, reconstitution of furnishings… The Royal Fortress of Chinon uses ever more creative means to celebrate the Renaissance period.

This series of new features will be launched on 1 April with the distribution of the château’s first Histopads, suitable for users of all ages from 7 to 77! The tablets will reveal eight rooms that have been entirely reconstituted in their original condition, providing users with a fully immersive experience as they interact with 3D decor and certain objects. A fun visit for children is also available for discovering the all château’s secrets, while adults will be amazed by the reconstitution of the furnishings in Charles VII’s private chamber. The highlight of the season will be the grand show on 21 July titled “Les Borgia à Chinon” (The Borgias at Chinon), a historical performance recounting the arrival of César Borgia in 1498. The show will be followed by the sampling of Florentine dishes from the Renaissance period.
