“Leonardo da Vinci in the virtual era” at the Château of Le Clos-Lucé
To mark the anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the Château of Le Clos-Lucé invites visitors to discover the genius’s machines in 3D through interactive virtual animation.
Unbelievable... Leonardo da Vinci’s works come to life before your very eyes! A dozen or so of the artist-cum-scholar’s inventions in the areas of aeronautics and military, maritime and civil engineering have been brought to life from construction plans and codices left by the Italian master. Through 3D models that can be turned and viewed at 360° using a digital touch-screen device, visitors will be plunged into an immersive experience created in partnership with Dassault Systèmes. It will also be an opportunity to discover one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous inventions: the flying machine. Known as the “ornithopter”, the design illustrates the great master’s fascination with the flight of winged animals and his incredible imagination at work to bring about his wildest dream of the time: human flight.
