Description

Massay is a "City that has been able to reconcile history, rural life and craftsmanship whose origins date back to Gallo-Roman times. It owes its fame to the existence of the Benedictine Abbey of St Martin founded in 738 and which shone until 936. Of these periods of glory but also of destruction and invasions there remains a marvellous heritage, the Abbey Church with its stained glass windows, the Chapel and its capitals, the Chapter House, the Monks' dormitory, private buildings and remains of fortifications."
