Via the Chérine nature reserve – trail no.3

The trail begins at Mézières-en-Brenne, La Brenne's historical capital where there is a major castellany, and takes you all the way to the Maison de la Nature. The permanent exhibition "Mission Guifette moustac" here is well worth a visit, as is a trip to the Cistude observatory (you'll need to book). And that's not all! The Maison de la Nature is located in Chérine national nature reserve, the gem of La Brenne. You'll have the chance to call in at two observatories along the way, one at Les Essarts and the other at La Sous. Feel free to leave your bike outside and wander into the observatories for a stunning view over the ponds, home to exceptionally rich bird life.
