in SAINT-HILAIRE-EN-LIGNIERES

Musée des Arts et Traditions Paysannes

The whole ground floor is the venue of the exhibition "Water Over Time": running water, stagnant water, washing water, healing water… This year's exhibition is "When animals were a means of power".
Description
The whole ground floor is the venue for the exhibition "Yesteryear in Berry, when animals were a means of power" which depicts teams of oxen, horses, donkeys, mules and dogs… through pictures, paintings and objects. Cart operators and drivers, farriers, wheelwrights, saddlers and horse dealers… are evoked, all trades that disappeared with the motorisation of the 1950s. A vast topic which narrates the culture of the Berry region. Each visit to the exhibition and the peasant house is accompanied with a commentary.
