Guided tour of Mézières-en-Brenne

The historic capital of Brenne, Mézières-en-Brenne has a fascinating past linked to the Dukes of Anjou, who transformed the remains of a feudal castle into a leisure residence in the 15th century.
Description
Alix de Barbant, the niece of King Phillip the Bold, was the author of the construction of the Sainte Marie-Madeleine collegiate church, which contains exceptional stained glass windows from the 14th and 16th centuries and a superb chapel in pure Renaissance style. A few old medieval houses are still standing along the canal that runs through the village.
