The old St. Lizaigne church is a miracle rescued at the last minute from ruin.
Description
Owned by the Notre-Dame d'Issoudun Abbey, St. Lizaigne is a very simple, small building with a layout composed of two rectangles corresponding respectively to the nave for the largest and the choir. The facade is very simple with a portal adorned with bright keystones surmounted by a sealed oculus and a triangular pediment. The choir that ends with the apse is covered with a barrel vault. A 'Christ Enthroned' surrounded by the 'Elders of the Apocalypse' and the 'Resurrection of the Dead' are items which are now preserved in partially destroyed decor.
