Château de Forges

Situated at the border between Berry, Limousin and Poitou, the Château de Forges constitutes an architectural gem of historical consistency and rarity. Fortified by letters patent of Charles VII to his loyal cup-bearer, Jean de Poix in 1447, the château is a family treasure, and is now owned by Hugues, a descendant of the same name, who continues to uphold its enchanting medieval charm. Climb the stairs to stay in the bedroom of Jeanne, a double room with bathroom (four-poster queen-size bed) overlooking a courtyard. There is a large lounge available and the option to use the spa (Turkish bath, jacuzzi) located in the vaulted cellar. Picnic hampers can be prepared on request.
