Visit to the village of Beaune-la-Rolande.
The guided tour will introduce you to this small village rich in history. Traces of Neolithic settlements have been found in the vicinity of the village, and its current location has been inhabited since Gallo-Roman times.
In the Middle Ages, Beaune was fortified and many vestiges of this period remain today. Beaune takes its name from the Gallic god Belenos, and the village gave its name to the small river that flows through it: “La Rolande”. The church boasts a remarkable 12th-century crypt.
