Opening of the Arboretum des Barres. Rich of its history, the Arboretum des Barres is a real plant heritage made up of 2,600 species and subspecies from the five continents and represented by some 9,250 trees and shrubs. This amazing collection is offered to the public on 35 hectares, including 10 hectares accessible to people with reduced mobility. Since its opening to the public in 1985, the Arboretum des Barres has the ambition to play a major role in environmental education. Thus, each year, several thousands of schoolchildren, college students or students of all levels come to discover the richness and potential of our environment through a variety of activities supervised by a dedicated team.
