Living Cartoon Duet

This ciné-concert takes us to Hollywood, in the midst of the creative ferment of the 20s and 30s, in the then burgeoning world of animation. The soundtrack is live, with sound effects, played "old-school". Cartoons by Walt Disney, Tex Avery and Ub Iwerks, as well as characters such as Betty Boop and Felix the Cat, are projected onto the screen. On stage, an actress and musician dub the animations live! They perform everything before your very eyes: the music (piano, vocals, percussion), the sound effects (recycled objects, percussion) and the characters' voices (mumbled, English, French). Cartoons come to life! A performance that's both documentary and precise, with a scathing sense of humor, virtuosity, poetry and burlesque comedy.
