Jules Hardouin-Mansart acquired the château de Sagonne in 1699, and became Count of Sagonne.
The château remained in his family until 1769.
Three generations of architects worked under the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV.
Much of their work still surrounds us today, including the Château de Versailles, the Château de Maisons, Saint-Louis Cathedral in Versailles, Place Vendôme and Les Invalides in Paris etc…
