Le renouveau des cépages oubliés

The Thursday 24 April at 18 a.m00
Rue Pasteur 36300 LE BLANC
Conference on the theme of oenology by Jean-Pierre Dermenghem, president of the "Cépages d'hier et de demain" association.
At the end of the 19th century, the phylloxera crisis devastated almost all French vineyards. In most cases, the choices made for replanting led to the abandonment of regional grape varieties. Current trends (global warming, concern for biodiversity, consumer interest in less standardized tastes) are leading more and more passionate winegrowers to reintroduce these "rare" or "forgotten" grape varieties of previous centuries. This is the case, for example, of the Genouillet grape, which, planted on over 3,000 hectares, has long been the emblematic variety of Berry. Since the early 2000s, Genouillet vines have begun to reappear in the winegrowing landscape of the Centre region.
