With its rich history, the Arboretum des Barres is a veritable plant heritage comprising 2,600 species and subspecies from all five continents, represented by some 9,250 trees and shrubs. This astonishing collection is presented to the public over 35 hectares, including 10 hectares accessible to people with reduced mobility. Since it was opened to the public in 1985, the Arboretum des Barres has sought to play a major role in environmental education.
