Nothing predestined Andrée Imbert for an extraordinary destiny. However, hardened by her childhood, the ward of the nation gradually forged a character and know-how behind the stove that made her an outstanding home cook. She was hired by the great personalities of the day, including the Lumière brothers, Albert Camus and the Gallimards, before flying to the United States to work for the Kennedy family.
Andrée Imbert imagined and prepared gala dinners and birthday cakes in the family mansion, then in Ted Kennedy’s home. From 1955 to 1974, the former foundling shared the joys and dramas of the most famous family of the 20th century.
