Conférence UPOP – "Le changement climatique"

One of the main consequences of climate change is longer, more frequent and more intense periods of extreme heat. In addition, urban environments are experiencing an overall rise in temperature compared with surrounding areas, and urban heat islands (UHIs) are appearing. These I.C.U.s reveal temperature differences close to those expected by certain G.I.E.C. climate scenarios, as sentinel zones mimicking temperatures expected between now and 2050. Through an interdisciplinary approach combining ecological sciences, local geography and public health, this conference aims to present this context and the studies currently being carried out on I.C.U.'s.
