The Musée Bertrand invites you to a lecture by curator Anne-Cécile Shreiner, entitled "La vie mondaine de Jean-Jacques Henner" (The social life of Jean-Jacques Henner).
This lecture invites you to discover a little-known facet of the painter Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905): a man deeply rooted in the social life of Paris in the second half of the 19th century, assiduously frequenting the dinners, parties and clubs of the era. We focus in particular on his social life and his many encounters with influential figures of the time. Henner befriended such eminent figures as scientist Louis Pasteur, writer Juliette Adam, actress Sarah Bernhardt and Marcel Proust's parents.
