Atelier famille "calligraphie et pyrogravure : l'art en fusion" à la Commanderie d'Arville

Family workshop "calligraphy and pyrography: art in fusion" at the Commanderie d'Arville. Cultural mediator Aurélien Gadde invites participants to combine two techniques widely used in the Middle Ages: calligraphy and pyrography. Pyrography is an ancient technique for decorating objects using the heat of fire. Employed in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, it was notably used to decorate furniture. Inspired by the designs of illuminated manuscripts, participants are invited to pyrographically engrave historiated lettering on wooden badges.
