Since about fifteen years, a real craze for ants has developed in the world of naturalists. Our knowledge as well on the geographical distribution, as the ecology of the various species progressed considerably. Ants are insects or hexapods (animals with a rigid external skeleton and three pairs of jointed legs) that belong to the order of Hymenoptera apocrites (wasp size) Aculeates (stinging stinger) and the family Formicidae. There are more than 12,000 species of ants in the world, including more than 400 for the European fauna and more than 220 for France. This training will allow to acquire general notions on ants, their ecologies, their biotopes, but also to practice an active research…
